School Meals

DTPA is committed to providing free, healthy meals for all students. Meals will include a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk. All items will be moderate in sodium, low in saturated fat, and contain zero grams of trans fat per serving (according to nutrition labels or manufacturer specifications). Meals will also meet the nutritional needs and calorie requirements of school-aged children.

All school meals are provided at no cost to students.

Drinking water will be accessible to all students throughout the school day and across every part of the school campus, including during mealtimes.

Students will have at least 10 minutes to eat breakfast and at least 20 minutes to eat lunch, measured from the time they receive their meal and are seated.

To promote better learning and healthier eating habits, lunch will be scheduled after recess.
